About the Department

Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (EXTC) Department of Xavier Institute of Engineering started in 2005 with Under Graduate (UG) program intake of 60. UG program of department is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra and affiliated to University of Mumbai. The department has a good record of organizing seminars, workshops, and symposia in emerging technological areas.

The department emphasizes on holistic learning by providing quality education, training and empowering students to make significant contributions in the field of Research & Innovations under the guidance of trained and experienced faculty members & well equipped laboratories

The department is having the state-of-the-art infrastructure, which includes ventilated class rooms, laboratories and staff rooms. Under the guidance of the management and principal, the department is flourishing by leaps and bounds.

PEOs of the B.E (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) program are as following:

  • Core Competence :Graduates shall cope with the need for rapidly growing technology with core knowledge in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

Program Outcomes

A graduate of Electronics and Telecommunication engineering will have the ability

  • Engineering knowledge: To apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering for the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: To identify, formulate, research literature and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • Design/ development of solutions: To design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components and processes in the field of Electronics & Telecommunication to meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: To analyse and interpret data and do syntheses of information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: To create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling in the field of Electronics & Telecommunication with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: To apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.

Program Specific Outcomes

At the end of the program, a student will be able

  • To combine fundamentals of electronics, signal processing, communication, control system along with analysis and programming skills to solve complex problems in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
  • To design, develop, test and demonstrate wired and wireless electronics and embedded system with innovative solutions and consideration of real-time constraints.
